The Brighton and Hove School Sport Partnership serves every state school in the city and supports schools in the delivery of high quality PE and school sport to all its pupils. There are over 450 Partnerships across the country, all managed by the Youth Sport Trust and based within Sports Colleges. The Sports College in Brighton and Hove is Dorothy Stringer High School who have over a number of years been the driving force behind the raising of standards in PE and who in association with the School Sport Partnership introduced the School Sport Festival, from which TAKEPART emerged, in 2006. TAKEPART therefore plays a lead role in the Partnership aim to provide five hours of high quality PE and school sport by helping create links to clubs and National Governing Body schemes to increase participation and by raising the profile of the lesser known clubs and sports which can and do provide opportunities for participation across the city. 2012 provides us with the perfect opportunity to showcase sport as never before and the School Sport Partnership along with partners across Brighton and Hove, is determined that TAKEPART becomes an Olympic legacy event worthy of the name and of which we are all proud.

NHS Brighton and Hove is the new name for the Brighton and Hove City Teaching Primary Care Trust, as we believe, its a more accurate description of us as a organisation. Although much of our work still concerns primary care practictioners (GPs, pharmacists, optometrists and dentists) we do a lot of other things to. Put simply, we aim to help people live healthily and stay well and make sure that high quality care is provided for them when they become unwell.
