Paddle Round The Pier

The Paddle Round The Pier Beach festival is the worlds biggest free water sports and beach lifestyle event. In 2011 it saw visitor number of 50,000 flock to the city's seafront to see and try the latest water sports entertainment and equipment.
The Paddle Village at over 90,000m² offers something for the whole family with a vast array of retail and exhibition spaces, food courts and entertainment over three different stages (one specifically for Children).
Entrance is free but organisers do ask for a pound donation from all adults as it is in aid of three magnificent charities. This year they are: the RNLI, Winstons Wish and Surf Action. Over the last few years Paddle has donated over £150,000.00 to charity.
There are some internationally recognised competitions such as the 26 mile Maritime Marathon and SLSGB race series alongside fun firm favourites such as the Paddle Something Unusual and then the actual Paddle Round The Pier itself. Take part or simply be a spectator, everyone is catered for.

Some of the sports covered over the weekend include:
surfing, kitesurfing, canoeing/kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, swimming, windsurfing, diving/sub-aqua, ocean skis, outrigger canoes, skateboarding, longboard skateboard racing, slalom, bmx, mountain boarding, parkour, irb (inshore rescue boats, lifeguard racing), surf life saving, dinghy sailing, assault courses, martial arts, climbing, beach volley ball, footvolley, Beach tennis, wakeboarding, landpaddling, openwater swimming.

Hove Lagoon

Once again we have the TAKEPART Skate Jam taking place down at Hove lagoon Skate Park on Saturday the 7th July 2012.

All skaters can take part in the Skate Jam competition. Come down, bring some friends and join in.
